Official participation terms for the Marina Home Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon & 10KM 2027, including refunds, virtual participation, race-day rules, and safety requirements.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before registering for or participating in the Marina Home Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon & 10KM. By completing your registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by this Agreement, including any updates issued by Dubai Creek Striders before race day.

Part A - General Terms

Clause 1

Introduction & Scope

1.1 These Terms & Conditions (the "Agreement") govern registration for and participation in the Marina Home Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon & 10KM 2027 (the "Event"), taking place on 10 January 2027 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

1.2 The Event includes two race formats only: the Half Marathon (21.1km) and the 10KM.

1.3 Dubai Creek Striders is the legal organiser of the Event. Marina Home is the Event title sponsor and is referenced in the Event title for sponsorship and branding purposes only.

1.4 By registering or participating, you agree to be legally bound by this Agreement. This Agreement applies to all entry channels, including direct, invited, complimentary, club, partner, sponsor, group, ambassador, and promotional entries approved by Dubai Creek Striders.

1.5 This Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Participant disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

Clause 2

Definitions

  • Agreement means these Terms & Conditions in their entirety, together with any race rules, runner instructions, and official notices issued by Dubai Creek Striders in connection with the Event.
  • Bib means the official race number issued to an in-person Participant, incorporating timing and identification features. The Bib is personal, non-transferable, and may not be exchanged, resold, gifted, or used by another person.
  • Dubai Creek Striders / DCS / We / Us / Organiser means Dubai Creek Striders, the legal organiser of the Event.
  • Entry Fee means the fee paid to secure an Event entry through the official registration platform.
  • Event means the Marina Home Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon & 10KM 2027, scheduled for 10 January 2027 in Dubai, UAE, including the Half Marathon, the 10KM, and associated Event activities made available by DCS.
  • Force Majeure means any circumstance beyond DCS's reasonable control, including acts of God, government orders, extreme weather, public health emergencies, accidents, infrastructure failure, security threats, civil unrest, conflict, war, acts of terrorism, or other conditions that make the Event unsafe or impracticable.
  • Official Registration Platform means the third-party registration platform designated by DCS for Event entry and participant self-service actions, including refunds where enabled.
  • Participant / You / Your means the person registering for or participating in the Event, or where the Participant is under 18, the parent or legal guardian completing or authorising the registration on that Participant's behalf.
  • Virtual Option means the post-race alternative offered by DCS that allows a registered Participant to complete their chosen distance independently and submit proof by the deadline stated in this Agreement.

Clause 3

Eligibility & Entry

3.1 Entry is available only through channels approved by DCS. DCS accepts no responsibility for registrations attempted through unofficial resellers or unauthorised third parties.

3.2 By registering, you warrant that all information you provide is true, accurate, complete, and kept up to date.

3.3 You confirm that you are medically fit, suitably trained, and capable of safely participating in your chosen distance.

3.4 Entries are issued solely for personal participation. Entries may not be used for commercial, promotional, hospitality, giveaway, competition, fundraising, or advertising purposes without DCS's prior written approval.

3.5 Minimum age requirements are:

  • Half Marathon (21.1km): 16 years or older on race day.
  • 10KM: 11 years or older on race day.
  • 3.6 Parental or legal guardian consent is required for every Participant under 18 years of age.
  • 3.7 Participants aged 11 to 16 in the 10KM must be accompanied by an adult in accordance with DCS race-day requirements and instructions.
  • 3.8 The parent or legal guardian of a Participant under 18 accepts full responsibility for the registration, the accuracy of the information supplied, and the Participant's compliance with this Agreement and all Event instructions.
  • 3.9 DCS reserves the right to accept, reject, or cancel any entry at its sole discretion where necessary for safety, fairness, compliance, or Event integrity.

Clause 4

Entry Fees, Refunds & No Transfer Policy

4.1 Entry Fees are set by DCS and processed through the Official Registration Platform.

4.2 A Participant may request a refund through the Official Registration Platform until 30 November 2026. All approved refunds under this clause are subject to a 25% administrative fee, and the Participant will receive back 75% of the amount paid for the entry to the original payment method used at registration.

4.3 From 1 December 2026 onward, all entries are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances, including but not limited to injury, illness, personal emergency, travel disruption, visa refusal, scheduling conflict, or change of mind.

4.4 DCS is not responsible for travel, accommodation, visa, insurance, or any other ancillary costs incurred by Participants in connection with the Event.

4.5 Transfers are not permitted under any circumstances. An entry may not be reassigned, substituted, gifted, sold, auctioned, swapped, or otherwise passed to another person.

4.6 Deferrals are not permitted under any circumstances. Entries cannot be postponed to a future DCS event or to a later edition of this Event.

Clause 5

Virtual Option

5.1 Any registered Participant may choose the Virtual Option after registering if they are unable or unwilling to participate in person on race day.

5.2 The Virtual Option is not a transfer, deferral, or refund. It is an alternative participation method offered by DCS at its sole discretion under the conditions in this Clause.

5.3 Participants using the Virtual Option must complete their chosen distance independently and submit proof to race@dubaicreekstriders.com no later than 31 March 2027.

5.4 DCS will review submitted proof acting reasonably and may request clarification or additional evidence before approving a Virtual Option completion.

5.5 Virtual Participants do not receive an in-person race bib and do not appear in official race results, rankings, prize standings, or awards.

5.6 Approved Virtual Participants may collect a race bag and medal from DCS only after satisfactory proof is accepted. Collection is in person only unless DCS expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

  • Acceptable proof may include a watch screenshot, fitness app record, GPX data, activity link, or other reasonable evidence showing the completed distance.
  • Race bag and medal fulfilment for approved Virtual Participants is collection only.

Clause 6

Bib Integrity & Anti-Fraud

6.1 Every in-person Bib is personal and non-transferable. Race numbers are linked to participant identification, emergency information, and timing records.

6.2 The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Selling, gifting, swapping, auctioning, or unofficially transferring a Bib or entry to another person.
  • Participating under another person's name or Bib.
  • Using counterfeit, duplicated, altered, or unauthorised credentials.
  • Tampering with the Bib, timing features, or any official identification issued for the Event.
  • Using any DCS entry allocation, sponsor allocation, club allocation, or complimentary entry for resale or unauthorised promotion.
  • 6.3 Any unauthorised Bib transfer, Bib misuse, or identity misrepresentation is a safety breach and an integrity breach.
  • 6.4 If a Bib breach or fraud is detected, DCS may immediately disqualify the Participant, remove them from the Event, void results, withhold prizes, and ban the involved individuals from future DCS races.

Clause 7

Assumption of Risk

7.1 Participation in the Event is voluntary and involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, road and pavement hazards, crowding, traffic interfaces, heat, humidity, dehydration, exhaustion, cardiac events, and other medical emergencies.

7.2 By registering, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with participation in the Event and accept responsibility for your own safety and wellbeing.

7.3 Participants must follow the marked route, remain alert to their surroundings, and comply with all instructions from marshals, medical personnel, police, security staff, and DCS officials.

Clause 8

Medical Consent & Participant Fitness

8.1 You confirm that you are physically fit, adequately trained, and medically able to complete your chosen distance safely.

8.2 DCS strongly recommends that Participants seek medical clearance before taking part if they have any health concerns or relevant medical history.

8.3 You consent to receiving first aid, emergency treatment, evacuation, or other medical assistance considered necessary by Event medical personnel or emergency responders.

8.4 You authorise DCS and Event medical teams to use and share relevant emergency and treatment information where reasonably necessary for Participant safety and Event operations.

8.5 Participants are responsible for providing accurate emergency contact information and disclosing relevant medical conditions where requested by DCS.

8.6 Any medical decision made in the interests of participant safety, including refusal to start, withdrawal from the course, or hospital transfer, is final and binding.

Clause 9

Insurance

9.1 Any Event insurance carried by DCS does not replace a Participant's responsibility to arrange their own suitable personal cover.

9.2 Participants are strongly advised to obtain, at their own cost, personal accident insurance, medical cover, and any travel insurance relevant to their participation.

9.3 DCS is not liable for costs arising from personal injury, medical treatment, evacuation, hospitalisation, travel changes, or similar losses beyond the extent required by applicable law.

Clause 10

Event Modification, Postponement & Force Majeure

10.1 DCS reserves the right to change, shorten, reroute, delay, postpone, suspend, or cancel the Event, or any part of it, where reasonably required for safety, operational, legal, or logistical reasons.

10.2 DCS may also modify Event procedures, start times, collection arrangements, venue access, race format, support services, or cut-off enforcement where needed.

10.3 If the Event is changed, postponed, or cancelled due to Force Majeure or safety concerns, DCS shall not be liable for travel, accommodation, visa, or other consequential costs incurred by Participants.

10.4 DCS will use reasonable efforts to notify Participants of material changes using the registered email address and other official DCS communication channels.

Clause 11

Commercial Rights, Media & Data

11.1 All Event branding, commercial rights, results data, official photography, video, and related content belong to DCS or its licensors and partners.

11.2 By participating, you grant DCS a worldwide, royalty-free right to use your name, likeness, voice, bib number, results, and Event imagery for legitimate Event, promotional, editorial, archival, and marketing purposes without compensation.

11.3 DCS may share participant data with registration providers, timing companies, medical teams, service providers, and operational partners where reasonably necessary for Event delivery.

11.4 Official results may include Participant name, age category, nationality where collected, bib number, and finish time.

11.5 Participants may contact race@dubaicreekstriders.com with questions relating to image use or Event data handling.

Clause 12

Conduct, Compliance & Disqualification

12.1 Participants must comply with all Event rules, course markings, marshal instructions, and official notices issued by DCS.

12.2 The following conduct may result in disqualification, removal, or a future ban:

  • Using another person's Bib or allowing your Bib to be used by someone else.
  • Ignoring course markings, cutting the course, or missing required timing points.
  • Failing to comply with marshal, police, medical, or organiser instructions.
  • Tampering with official race materials or results processes.
  • Abusive, aggressive, discriminatory, dangerous, or unsporting behaviour.
  • Participating while medically unfit or in a way that endangers others.
  • 12.3 Disqualification may include removal from the course, voiding of results, forfeiture of prizes, and ineligibility for future DCS events.

Clause 13

Limitation of Liability

13.1 To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, DCS excludes liability for personal injury, illness, death, property damage, loss, theft, delay, inconvenience, indirect loss, or consequential loss arising before, during, or after the Event.

13.2 Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

13.3 Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, DCS's total liability to any individual Participant shall not exceed the Entry Fee paid by that Participant.

Clause 14

General

14.1 DCS may update these Terms & Conditions, race rules, or official instructions before race day where reasonably necessary. Continued registration or participation constitutes acceptance of those updates.

14.2 If any provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable or invalid, the remainder shall remain in full force and effect.

14.3 This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between DCS and the Participant in relation to Event registration and participation.

Part B - Race-Specific Rules & Regulations

These rules apply to in-person participation in the Half Marathon and 10KM on race day. Operational details such as exact collection locations, access routes, support services, and venue arrangements may be issued separately in official runner instructions and may change.

Clause 15

Race Pack Collection

15.1 Participants will be notified by email by DCS no later than one week before race day of the dates, times, and Dubai location for collection of the full race pack.

15.2 Race packs, including the Bib and any distributed Event items, must be collected during the published collection windows only.

15.3 Packs will not be distributed after the published collection dates and times, and will not be taken to the start line. Participants must ensure collection is completed before race day.

15.4 Unless DCS expressly states otherwise, race packs will not be distributed on race day.

15.5 Photo identification matching the registration may be required for collection.

15.6 A proxy may collect a race pack only if the proxy presents the documents and identification required by DCS.

Clause 16

Bibs, Timing & Identification

16.1 The Bib must be securely attached to the front of the Participant's shirt, vest, or race belt and remain clearly visible throughout the race.

16.2 Participants must not fold, obscure, alter, or tamper with the Bib or its timing components.

16.3 Participants must complete all required timing points and identification checks as part of the official results process.

16.4 Participants may be required to complete emergency contact and medical information in the format instructed by DCS.

Clause 17

Pens, Starts & Cut-Offs

17.1 Participants must start in the pen, batch, or area assigned by DCS and line up in accordance with official Event instructions.

17.2 DCS may assign starting pens based on expected pace, race format, Bib number, operational planning, or safety considerations.

17.3 Participants who miss their assigned start process or fail to follow pen instructions may be delayed, reassigned, or refused permission to start.

17.4 The Half Marathon has a published cut-off of 3 hours, including a checkpoint requirement at approximately 7km within 1 hour 10 minutes, subject to any race-day update issued by DCS.

17.5 The 10KM has a published cut-off of 1 hour 45 minutes, subject to any race-day update issued by DCS.

17.6 Participants who miss a cut-off or checkpoint must comply immediately with marshal instructions and may be withdrawn, redirected, or recorded as not finishing in the original format.

Clause 18

Course Rules & Safety

18.1 Participants must follow the full marked course and all route signage.

18.2 Shortcuts, unauthorised deviations, bypassing timing mats, or leaving the designated route to gain an advantage are prohibited and may result in disqualification.

18.3 Participants remain responsible for their own safety and for acting cautiously at road crossings, narrow paths, steps, shared surfaces, or any other hazard points identified by DCS or marshals.

18.4 Participants must not obstruct emergency vehicles, medical teams, or Event operations.

Clause 19

Hydration, Littering & Medical Support

19.1 DCS may provide hydration, nutrition, and medical services at locations and to a standard determined by operational requirements.

19.2 Participants must dispose of cups, bottles, gel packets, and other waste responsibly and as directed by DCS.

19.3 Participants needing assistance must alert the nearest marshal, official, or medical team member as soon as reasonably possible.

Clause 20

Baggage, Personal Property & Facilities

20.1 Any baggage facility offered by DCS is used entirely at the owner's risk.

20.2 DCS accepts no liability for loss, theft, delay, or damage affecting personal belongings left at baggage storage, start areas, finish areas, venues, or elsewhere in connection with the Event.

20.3 Access to on-site facilities, hospitality areas, breakfast areas, showers, and similar services is subject to the arrangements and entry conditions published by DCS.

Clause 21

Results, Awards & Prize Collection

21.1 Official results are determined by DCS and its appointed timing provider based on registered participation, timing records, and compliance with Event rules.

21.2 DCS may publish preliminary and final results after applying any necessary checks or corrections.

21.3 Only eligible in-person Participants may appear in official results and awards.

21.4 Prize, trophy, or medal collection processes are subject to race-day procedures published by DCS. DCS may require winners to be present in person or to follow a post-event collection process specified by DCS.

By completing your registration for the Marina Home Dubai Creek Striders Half Marathon & 10KM 2027, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by this Agreement in its entirety, including Part A (General Terms) and Part B (Race-Specific Rules & Regulations).
