March 5th 2010
After last weeks sand blasting in the windest hottest day since august last year I hope the weather is kind to us this Friday (not heavy rain I hope) and I wont need to catch a taxi back for a 7am start for the official creek classic lots of options including an abra ride a visit thro the gold souk and some really fantastic smelling fresh fish thro the fish market. That should be approx 16 to 20ishkm. For those training for other races/events and would like an addt 5 or 10kms i am sure there will be some runners starting at 6 and 630 for the 10 or 5km loop. Usual starting point opposite the Novotel.
NB DONT FORGET TO HAVE YOUR EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBERS ATTACHED TO YOUR TRAINERS. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT RECD THEM WE WILL HAND THEM OUT ON FRIDAY

“The Flyers” (Terry, Dave, Nick & Derek) need your support
It is intended to hold a charity Horse Racing Night in aid of the two Dubai teams taking part in the UK’s 2010 Four Peaks Challenge in aid of the Wooden Spoon Charity.
We have been supporting the Wooden Spoon Charity for several years now and have raised in excess of £60,000. The charity supports handicapped, underprivileged and disadvantaged children throughout the UK
Date: 19th March 2010
Location: Dubai Offshore sailing Club (DOSC)
Time: 7pm till late
Price: 65Dhs Including Fish & Chips & Raffle.
See attached Flyer for more details.
Tickets will be on sale at next Fridays run.
On Thursday, 1 July 2010, 60 teams will arrive at Fort William on the shores of Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil, to take part in one of the UK's most exhausting, exhilarating and rewarding charity challenges, starting with Ben Nevis.
The Four Peaks Challenge has an unprecedented record for exceeding pledged fundraising levels.
In 2008, a maximum of 60 teams pledged more than £489,000. Past challengers have pledged over £5m for Wooden Spoon projects throughout the UK.
The challenge is for three of the four man team to scale over 4,200 meters of the highest peaks in Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland whilst the fourth member drives the team in excess of 1000 miles between the mountains. This has all to be completed within 48 hours. Our goal this year is to raise over £10,000 for the charity and to run the mountain stages in a sub 8 hour accumulative time.
We are looking for your support either by participating in this fun night or purely by making a donation to our website http://www.justgiving.com/TheFlyers2010
